KU Finishes Eighth At Tyson/Embassy Suites Invitational Lead

FAYETTVILLE, Ark. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished in eighth place, in a 16-team field, at the Tyson/Embassy Suites Invitational. The Jayhawks shot a final round of 306 for a three day total of 918 at the par-72 Pinnacle Country Club.

“We are very close to putting it all together” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “We have a couple of weeks to prepare for our next tournament; and we will be ready.”

Host school Arkansas took home the tournament title with a 876 followed by Notre Dame with a 896.

Junior Amanda Costner tied for fourth after a final round 74. Senior Chelsey Pryor finished in a tie for 31st after her third round 78. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso tied for 46th after shooting a 76. Sophomore Sarah Kierl shot a final round 78 to tie for 69th. Senior Meredith Winkelmann shot an 85 to put her in a tie for 73rd. Junior Jill Womble, playing as an individual, tied for 81st after an 81.

The Jayhawks will next be in action on Nov. 4-6 at the Derby Invitational in Auburn, Ala.
