Kansas Leads Colorado 3-0 at the Half

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>BOULDER, Colo. – Capitalizing on a fumble recovery by junior CB Kendrick Harper, the University of Kansas football team struck first on a 48 yard field goal by senior Scott Webb with 13:42 in the second quarter. Kansas leada at the half over the Colorado Buffaloes 3-0.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Colorado had a chance to respond at the 5:12 mark, but the 46-yard kick sailed left of the uprights. The Buffs again threatened at the end of the half but the hail mary pass was deflected by Aqib Talib.

Sophomore QB Todd Reesing led the Kansas attack in the first half, rushing for 61 yards and completing 10-of-15 passes for 73 yards. Kansas totaled 80 yards rushing and 153 yard in total offense. Linebackers Joe Mortensen and James Holt led the defense with eight and seven tackles, respectively.

Colorado QB Cody Hawkins completed 13-of-20 attempts for 96 yards through the air, while the CU ground game picked up 34 yards.

Kansas shut its opponent out in the first half for the fifth time this season.
