Jayhawks Trail Wildcats at Halftime, 31-14

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas trails at the half to the No. 12 Kansas State Wildcats, 31-14 in Memorial Stadium.

The Jayhawks put together two, 11-play drives late in the first half to cut into the KSU lead, as the drives covered 63 and 78 yards, respectively. Sophomore running back James Sims capped off the 63-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Sophomore quarterback Jordan Webb connected with junior wide receiver D.J. Beshears from 13 yards out for the second score.

Webb finished the first half 16-for-21 for 146 yards and one touchdown. As a team, KU was held to just 37 yards rushing in the first half, a season low for a first half. Junior wide receiver Kale Pick led all Kansas receiver with a career-high six receptions for 51 yards.

Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein led the Wildcats both through the air and on the ground with 176 yards on 11-of-15 passing and 62 more yards on the ground with three rushing touchdowns.
