<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Kansas women’s golf is in 16th place out of 17 teams after 18 holes at The Derby Invitational Saturday. The Jayhawks totaled a one-round score of 327 to conclude the first day of the 36-hole tournament at the Auburn University Club golf course (par 72, 6,310 yards).

North Carolina sits in the top spot with 301 strokes, while host Auburn is in second place with a one-round score of 303.

Senior Amanda Costner is tied for 44th with 79 strokes after the first round, and junior Annie Giangrosso is in a tie for 55th with 80.

Freshman Emily Powers is tied for 72nd with a first-round score of 82, while freshman Meghan Gockel is tied for 84th place with 86 strokes. Senior Jill Womble is tied for 88th place with 88 strokes.
