KU Women's Golf Tied for 10th Place After Round One at Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Junior Thanuttra Boonraksasat leads the Kansas women’s golf team after shooting an even-par 72 in the first round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C., Sunday.
The Jayhawks shot a 307 (+19) in the first round, which placed them 10th. KU was able to complete 14 holes in the second round and had improved to seventh place when play was suspended due to darkness. Campbell shot a 6-under 282 to lead after one round.
Boonraksasat carded two birdies in her first round on the par-72 course on Sunday to tie for eighth place among individuals. KU junior Meghan Potee is tied for 38th individually, after shooting a 77 (+1). Freshman Yupaporn Kawinpakorn and senior Audrey Yowell each shot a 79 (+7) and are tied for 56th. Sophomore Gabby DiMarco is tied 72nd after shooting 80 (+8).
Potee, Kawinpakorn and DiMarco also had two birdies on the day, while Yowell carded three birdies.
The end of the second round and final 18-hole round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate will be played on Monday, Oct. 29. Live scoring can be followed via golfstat.com.
