Kansas Welcomes No. 5 Nebraska in Wednesday's Volleyball Action

In its final meeting with Nebraska in Big 12 Conference play, Kansas volleyball (14-10, 5-8 Big 12) takes on the fifth-ranked Huskers (20-2, 12-1 Big 12) on Wednesday, Nov. 3. First serve from the Horejsi Family Athletics Center is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The contest will be aired live throughout the Kansas City and Lawrence area on Metro Sports with Brenda VanLengen and Jill Hall calling all of the action.

The Jayhawks have their work cut out for them as Nebraska boast the nation’s top blocking team with 3.12 blocks per set, while its 15.04 kills per set rank second.

KU is coming off a season-high .423 hitting percentage in its sweep of Texas Tech Saturday as two Jayhawks hit over .600 in the contest, including senior Karina Garlington, who has led the team (or tied for the lead) in kills in four of the last five matches. She ranks sixth in the conference with 3.55 kills per set. Redshirt freshman Caroline Jarmoc is tops on the team with both a .275 attack percentage and 0.93 blocks per set but has averaged a .391 clip and 1.00 blocks per set over the last three contests. In the back court, freshman Brianne Riley has resumed libero duties as she leads the Jayhawks with 3.65 dps.

Kansas will go in search of it’s first-ever win versus Nebraska Wednesday evening as the Huskers lead the all-time series with Kansas 85-0-1.
