Faculty And Staff Discount Offered On Women's Basketball Tickets

Nov. 5, 2004

Lawrence, Kan. — Women’s basketball Coach Bonnie Henrickson is recruiting KU faculty and staff to join the team this season.

“I’ve always told fans, `We need you in the stands to root for us and help us win,’ “Henrickson said. “If our fans don’t come watch us play–if fans don’t help us win–they become our opponent.”

The athletics department is doing its part to assist Henrickson’s recruiting effort. KU faculty and staff may purchase 2004-05 KU women’s basketball season tickets at a discounted rate of $77–a savings of 20 percent off the regular-season ticket price.

Also, for the first time in program history, people 55 and older may purchase reserved season tickets for $48.

The Jayhawks play 18 games in Allen Fieldhouse this season, including two exhibition contests, eight non-conference games and eight matchups with Big 12 foes.

Single game tickets are available for $6 for adults and $3 for youth. Groups of 20 or more receive a $2 discount per ticket for all games except Kansas State.

The Kansas State game has been designated a premium game and all tickets will be $15.

“One of the great things about KU is the passion and vision for basketball in the state of Kansas,” Henrickson said. “Our program has had success historically, and now it is my responsibility and my staff’s responsibility to re-establish tradition and to build this program into something very, very special.”
