KU’s WIN:
–Made Kansas’ all-time record in exhibition games 40-9 overall and 34-9 in Allen Fieldhouse.
–Improved KU to 4-0 against Pittsburg State in exhibition contests.
–Marked the Jayhawks’ 14th-straight exhibition win.
–Improved Kansas head coach Bonnie Henrickson to 15-1 in home exhibitions while at Kansas.
TEAM NOTES:
–Kansas used the starting lineup of Angel Goodrich, Natalie Knight, Monica Engelman, Carolyn Davis and Aishah Sutherland for both halves.
–The Jayhawks went on a 12-5 run to open up the second half.
–Kansas led by as many as 25 points in the second half.
–KU held Pittsburg State scoreless from 11:53 until 7:57 during the last 20 minutes of play.
–The Jayhawks outscored the Gorillas 46-24 in the paint, including 26-8 in the second half.
–The Jayhawks outscored the Gorillas 22-0 in fast break points.
–Kansas shot 30-for-58 for 51.7 percent and held the Gorillas to 18-for-63 for 28.6 percent.
–Defensively, the Jayhawks recorded 12 blocks and 14 steals in the contest.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
–The junior trio of Monica Engelman, Carolyn Davis and Angel Goodrich finished with double-digit points for the second consecutive game.
–Junior guard Monica Engelman led the Jayhawks in points at halftime with 10. She finished with a game-high 16.
–Davis finished the game with six blocked shots, which would have set a career high had it not been an exhibition game.
–Engelman finished with four steals, which would have tied a career high.
–Junior guard Angel Goodrich lead the team in assists with six.
–Freshman guard Donielle Breaux led KU’s freshmen class in scoring for the second-straight time turning in five points versus the Gorillas.
