-Kansas holds a 38-9 record all-time in exhibition games and has won 29 of its last 31 preseason contests.

-Today’s game marked the 17th time the Jayhawks have played an in-state Division II foe in the preseason, which includes last season’s victories against Emporia State and Pittsburg State and last week’s 83-62 win over Fort Hays State.

-KU is 4-0 in preseason exhibition games against Washburn. Under head coach Bonnie Henrickson, the Jayhawks are 3-0 versus Washburn.

-KU leads the regular season series versus Washburn, 9-1. The Jayhawks and Lady Blues have not met during regular-season play since WU took a 62-59 win over KU on Dec. 2, 2004.

-The last time the Jayhawks met the Lady Blues, KU took a 67-51 win over WU on November 9, 2008.

-The Jayhawks wore their red uniforms for the first time this season.

-The Jayhawks shot 50 percent from the field on the afternoon. They also forced 27 turnovers, which is the most since an exhibition game against Fort Hays State on Nov. 2, 2008.

-KU held Washburn without a double-figure scorer on the day.

-KU held Washburn to only 46 total points on the day, the fewest points allowed in an exhibition contest since the 2008 exhibition season-opener versus FHSU when the Tigers scored 37 points.

Player Notes

-Kansas used the starting lineup of Angel Goodrich, Monica Engelman, Carolyn Davis, Aishah Sutherland and Brooke Jelniker in both halves for the second straight game.

-Nine of the 11 Jayhawks that played in the first half also scored in the first 20 minutes. Sophomore Carolyn Davis led the team with 10 points and six rebounds at half time. All 11 Jayhawks eventually scored in the game.

-Davis finished the game with a double-double, 15 points and 11 rebounds in 23 minutes of play.

-Sophomore Monica Engelman scored the first 10 points of the second half. She finished the game with a game-high 20 points.
