“We are so excited to have both Mackenzie and Mook join our team next year,” O’Neil said. “Both players bring a lot of playing experience with them and share a strong determination to succeed as a student-athlete.”

Thayer was the 2011 Kansas Class 6A high school individual champion as well as the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year four years in a row. Thayer’s father, Sean Thayer was a member of the Kansas men’s golf team in 1989-90.

“Mackenzie is a Kansas girl through and through and it’s great to keep great players like her in the state,” O’Neil said. “She has an incredible work ethic on the golf course and in the classroom and she has a never give up attitude that will help us reach our goals.”

Mook was a member of the Thai National Team in 2009 and 2010 as well as the Thai National Team of Thailand (Ladies Golf Association) in 2009, 2010 and 2011. “Mook has represented her country in a number of tournaments and brings a competitive edge that will no doubt help us win,” O’Neil said. “She will add depth to our team and will make an immediate impact with her talent.”
