Jayhawks lead K-State, 20-10 at Half

LAWRENCE, Kan. –
Senior tailback Jon Cornish rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown in the first half as the University of Kansas leads Kansas State, 20-10 after the first 30 minutes of play at Memorial Stadium.
The Jayhawks forced four K-State turnovers in the first half, including a fumble at the goal line, which sophomore defensive end Russell Brorsen recovered for a touchdown. Brorsen also recovered a fumble in the first quarter, which set up a Scott Webb field goal. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Freshman quarterback Kerry Meier is 6-of-14 passing for 68 yards, while sophomore Dexton Fields has four catches for 43 yards to lead the Jayhawks.
KU (5-5) is looking to become bowl eligible for the second-consecutive season.
