In its final home match of the 2010 season, Kansas volleyball (16-13, 7-11 Big 12) will host in-state rival Kansas State (10-19, 4-14 Big 12) on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center for Senior Night. The match, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will be televised on Metro Sports throughout the Kansas City and Lawrence areas. Dave Stewart and Jill (Dorsey) Hall will be calling all of the action.

Following the match, KU will honor its four seniors Karina Garlington, Jenna Kaiser, Melissa Manda and Mel Townsend. The Jayhawks have won their last three Senior Night matches and a win Wednesday would give KU its most victories since the 2004 season.

Garlington paces the team with a 3.49 kills per set average on the season, but Kaiser is tops on the team over the last four contests averaging 3.62 kills per set in that span. Defensively, freshman libero Brianne Riley leads the Jayhawks with 3.97 digs per set. She has received extra help recently from freshman redshirt Caroline Jarmoc, who is blocking 1.38 balls per set in the last four matches.

Garlington and Riley are both nearing top 10 single-season KU records. Garlington needs 27 more kills to crack the record list, while Riley is just 21 digs shy.

Kansas defeated KSU in Horejsi last season but Kansas State leads 26-16 all-time in Lawrence and 58-36 overall.
