Brady Morningstar Make Tulsa 66ers Opening Day Roster

Former Kansas men’s basketball player Brady Morningstar has made the season-opening roster for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League. The Tulsa 66ers is the official minor league team of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

Morningstar was drafted by Tulsa on Nov. 3 and reported to training camp on Nov. 12. The 6-4, 185-pound guard was the 34th overall selection in the NBADL draft. Coached by Nate Tibbetts, Tulsa officially kicks off its season at Idaho on Nov. 25. In making the team, Morningstar has signed a contract with the NBADL.

A Lawrence, Kan., product, Morningstar played at Kansas for five seasons from 2006-07 until 2010-11. He was a part of five Big 12 regular-season championships, four Big 12 Tournament titles, three NCAA Tournament Elite appearances, one Final Four and one NCAA National Championship. He was a redshirt on the KU 2008 national title team. During Morningstar’s five seasons at Kansas, the Jayhawks posted an incredible 165-24 (87.3 winning percentage) record.

An All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection and selected to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in 2011, Morningstar played in 116 games while at Kansas with 68 starts and a 5.6 scoring average. An Academic All-Big 12 selection his senior season, Morningstar was a four-time member of the Athletic Director’s and Big 12 Commissioner’s honor rolls.
