Kansas In Fifth After Day One of the Kenyon Invite

Kansas swimming and diving finds itself in fifth place with 65 points after day one of the Kenyon Invitational. Pennsylvania leads the competition with 131 points. KU’s top 800 yard freestyle relay team opened the evening competition with a first place finish, but the Jayhawks faltered in the 1650 yard freestyle.

Kansas’ 800 yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Danielle Herrmann, Maria Mayrovich, Emily Lanteigne and Anne Liggett won the Invitational’s opening event in a time of 7:19.61. That time was over six seconds faster than second place Kenyon College. KU’s ‘B’ team placed seventh in a time of 7:38.80

Pennsylvania benefitted from a strong performance in the 1650 yard freestyle, as it had the first, second and fourth place finishers. Alyssa Potter was the top KU performer, as she placed sixth with a time of 17:13.10.
