Kansas' Xavier Henry Named Big 12 Rookie of the Week for Second Straight Week

IRVING, Texas – Kansas freshman Xavier Henry has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week for the second straight week for his efforts in KU’s wins against Radford and La Salle.

Henry helped No. 1 Kansas defeat Radford (99-64) and La Salle (90-65) to improve to 9-0 on the season. The Oklahoma City guard averaged 22.0 points and 3.5 rebounds, while shooting 62.5 percent (15-of-24). The top performance came versus La Salle, as he exploded for a career-high 31 points on 10-of-15 shooting versus the Explorers. Henry also totaled seven rebounds, three assists, four blocks and four steals in the two contests. He has led the Jayhawks in scoring five times this season.

Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week honors went to Kansas State junior Jacob Pullen who averaged 22 points in victories against Xavier and UNLV.

Kansas takes a week off for final exams and plays host to Michigan (5-4) at 11 a.m. (Central) on Saturday.
