Kopatich, Lyons earn All-Big 12 honors in 2019

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball seniors Kylee Kopatich and Christalah Lyons were named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention for their efforts during Big 12 Conference play this season, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Lyon’s All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection is the second of her career and it’s the first for Kopatich. Four Jayhawks have earned all-conference honors under head coach Brandon Schneider.
 
Kopatich started all 18 games of the conference slate in her final season in the Crimson and Blue. The Olathe, Kansas native averaged 12.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals. Kopatich shot 37.8 percent from the field, while connecting on 30.4 percent of her attempts from long range.
 
Lyons also started every game during Big 12 action. She averaged a team-leading 12.8 points, 3.0 assists and 2.2 rebounds as a senior. The Dallas, Texas native shot 38 percent from the field, while making 33.3 percent of her shots from beyond the 3-point line.
 
UP NEXT
The Jayhawks face Oklahoma State in the first round of the 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship on Friday, March 8 at 8:30 p.m., inside Chesapeake Arena. The Big 12 Championship will be broadcast on Fox Sports Networks, while all KU matchups will also be broadcast on the Jayhawk Radio Network.
