RCW: A Look Back 3.36

For our final article for the year, let’s take A Look Back at Jerry Waugh. Already a member of the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame, Waugh was recently announced as a member of the 2017 Induction Class of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. Waugh has been around Kansas Athletics in various capacities since joining the basketball team in 1948. He later served as an assistant coach for men’s basketball and head coach for men’s golf, but let’s focus on his term as head women’s golf coach.

In the role from 1993 until his retirement in 1999, Waugh coached the women’s golf team to four meet titles. He also coached Holly Reynolds to a top-15 finish at the 1993 NCAA Women’s Golf Championships. Hers was only the second Kansas appearance at the event, and the first until the team competed again in 2014.
