The Kansas women’s tennis team is ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) top-50 poll for the second week in-a-row.

KU made its first appearance on the list this season at No. 15 when rankings came out on February 20. That recognition came after the Jayhawks defeated No. 18 Arkansas (4-3), North Carolina State (4-3), No. T24 Oregon (4-1) and William & Mary (5-2) to go on a four-match winning streak.

Sliding down five spots, the ITA placed Kansas at No. 20 this week after going 1-1 in two road matches last weekend. At No. 38-ranked Arkansas, the Razorbacks came back with a vengeance to top KU, 4-3, in Fayetteville. The Jayhawks bounced back from that loss to down Purdue in a neutral-site match, 6-1, and moved to 5-3 on the season.

Kansas will host four of its next five matches at the Jayhawk Tennis Center at Rock Chalk Park. This slate starts Friday, march 2 against No. 21 Wichita State. KU then welcomes Gonzaga, No. 47 Baylor and No. 18 Texas to Lawrence.

As always, admission is free for fans and pizza will be served during the match.
