Come “Rock the Track” with the Kansas Track and Field team on November 9th from 10 a.m – noon inside KU’s indoor facility, Anschutz Sports Pavilion. Kids kindergarten through fifth grade can have fun running, jumping and throwing with the KU track & field team and receive instructional guidance from some the best athletes in the Big 12. The “Rock the Track” experience is free. In addition, all participating kids receive a medal that gives your child free admission to the Kansas Relays, April 15-18. Rock the Track is open to the first 300 to register.
The primarily emphasis of “Rock the Track” is to provide your child with a fun experience while introducing the sport of track and field. The KU athletes will provide age-appropriate instruction with an emphasis on having FUN! Events include age appropriate low hurdles, long jump, throws (safe turbo javelin and shot put), sprints, assisted pole vault and photos.
Children will be divided into groups based on age and guided to different stations inside Anschutz Sports Pavilion. Parents are welcome to follow their child to each station.
