Bio

Jason Kraman joined Kansas Athletics and the Kansas Team Health staff in January 2022. Kraman provides direct mental health clinical services to KU student-athletes and works with the Director of Mental Health Services to deliver psychoeducational programming.

Kraman received his Bachelors in Organizational Studies from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. He went on to receive his Masters in Social Welfare (MSW) from the University of California – Los Angeles.

Kraman previously worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health, intensive outpatient, and private practice. He is a licensed specialist clinical social worker in the state of Kansas. Kraman is especially passionate about mindfulness-based interventions, previously studying Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at Thomas Jefferson University’s Myrna Brind Center for Mindfulness. Kraman also continues to train at the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion.

Kraman comes to Lawrence with his French Bulldog Hugo. When he is not supporting KU student-athletes, you can find him playing tennis, weight-lifting, and walking trails with Hugo.

Kraman originally hails from the Greater Philadelphia area, spending his formative years in Wynnewood, PA.
