Rankings update: Jayhawks debut at No. 11 in NCAA RPI

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kansas volleyball remained at No. 11 in the AVCA Coaches Poll released on Monday, Oct. 2, after gaining its third victory over a top-25 team last week. The Jayhawks have been ranked 38-straight times in the AVCA poll entering the seventh week of the regular season.

The Jayhawks feature a 3-1 record against current top-25 teams, including wins over No. 10 Kentucky, No. 18 Purdue and No. 20 Iowa State. The Big 12 features three of its nine teams ranked in the top-25 — No. 5 Texas in addition to the 11th-ranked Jayhawks and 20th-ranked Cyclones. Baylor continues to receive votes in the AVCA’s poll for the seventh-straight week.

The first NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) also was released on Monday with the Jayhawks debuting at No. 11. KU is one of only six programs in the nation to finish with a top-15 NCAA RPI for the last five-straight seasons.
