KU Women’s Hoops Announces Summer Camp Lineup

2015 Jayhawk Jamboree // 2015 Basketball Camps

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Basketball players of various ages and skill level will have four chances to improve their game this summer at the 2015 Brandon Schneider Basketball Camps hosted by Kansas women’s basketball and head coach Brandon Schneider.

Camps include Elite Camp (June 5-7), Individual Camp (June 21-23), Jayhawk Team Jamboree (June 27) and two sessions of the Junior Jayhawk Camp (June 29-July 2 and July 20-23). All sessions will utilize the facilities at the University of Kansas with Schneider and his staff overseeing all camp sessions. Current and former KU players will also assist with instruction and supervision.

Elite Camp (June 5-7)
Elite Camp is designated for the advanced player wanting to improve individual and team skills during the off-season. Emphasis will be placed on developing advanced skills, according to position, both offensively and defensively. 

All members of the KU coaching staff will be present at camp in addition to current and former KU players, high school coaches, professional players and college coaches from other universities. It is strongly recommended that participants have completed at least one year of high school prior to enrolling in camp.

Individual Camp (June 21-23)
Individual Camp emphasizes the development of fundamental skills. Daily instruction and station work are designed to encourage the mastery of basic skills. In addition, players are grouped according to age and skill level. Campers will compete on teams in order to apply their individual skills to team concepts. 

All members of the KU coaching staff will be present at camp in addition to current and former KU players, high school coaches, professional players and college coaches from other universities. Girls entering grades 5-12 in the fall of 2015 are eligible for Individual Camp.
 
Jayhawk Jamboree (June 27)
The Jayhawk Jamboree is a one-day team camp that provides a professional atmosphere in which teams can compete against quality opponents, with a four game guarantee (eight player minimum per team). Teams will be divided into competition pools (based on head coach recommendation) to ensure quality opponents in round-robin format. 
 
In addition, all teams will be instructed on NCAA compliance and the college recruiting process. High school varsity, junior varsity and AAU teams are eligible for the 2015 Jayhawk Jamboree.

Jayhawk Junior Camp (June 29-July 2 and July 20-23)
Junior Jayhawk Camp is designed to teach fundamental skills and rules of the game to young, aspiring players. Camp will include basic skill stations, 5-on-5 competitions and more. Camp will run daily from 9 a.m. – noon. This camp is for girls and boys entering grades 1-5 in the fall of 2015.
