Big Break Halloween

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Toy story characters and Tinker Bell were just a few of the costumes at the Kansas women’s golf annual Halloween festivities at Alvamar Golf Club Friday afternoon.

While dressed in their preferred get-ups, this year’s theme was “Big Break Halloween” from the Golf Channel for the Jayhawk squad which finished in the top five of every event this fall. The 10-member squad divided into two teams and competed in an intra-squad battle of drills much like the popular television show. Included were blind flop shots and target practice off of the driving range at KU’s practice facilities at Alvamar. The groups concluded with a team speed race on two holes while still dressed in their garb.

KU head coach Erin O’Neil said this is the eighth year the Jayhawks have participated in a round of costume golf on Halloween.
