Fonseca Diaz finishes seventh at Orlando Amateur

ORLANDO, Fla. – The big scores that plagued the final four holes of Kansas sophomore Ariadna Fonseca Diaz’s second round carried over Friday at the 2016 Orlando International Amateur at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, as she finished seventh with a nine-over 225.

Fonseca Diaz posted plus scores in 10 of the first 16 holes of Friday’s round, before scoring her first birdie on hole 17.  She finished the round with a 10-over 82, and nine strokes behind the medalist.

Fonseca Diaz and the rest of the Jayhawks will begin their spring season Febuary 26, when Kansas takes part in the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz., hosted by Wisconsin.
