TUCSON, Ariz. – Chomchana Phuchanbanchob led Kansas through the final round of the MountainView Collegiate, shooting 1-under (71). After ending Saturday in first place, the Jayhawks shot 12-over (300) in the final round and fell down the leaderboard to finish in fourth place.

Phuchanbanchob had a consistent day for Kansas, carding a total of five birdies but bogeys on No. 10 and 15 as well as a double bogey on No. 14 hindered her score. The junior from Chiang Rai, Thailand, finished in a tie for 16th and was the top finisher for Kansas for the second time this season.

After each finding a share of first place on the first two days, freshman Sera Tadokoro and sophomore Yi-Tsen Chou both fell on the leaderboard and finished in a tie for 19th place, shooting 7-over in the tournament.

Junior Ariadna Fonseca Diaz shot 2-over in the final round to put her 8-over in the event. Fonseca Diaz started the round with back-to-back bogeys on No. 2 and 3 but recovered with a birdie on No. 9 to finish the front nine 1-over. Fonseca Diaz had a consistent back nine only shooting a bogey on No. 14 to finish in a tie for 25th place.

Lastly, sophomore Xinyun Yu shot 5-over (77) in round three and finished in a tie for 66th.

As an individual, senior Kallie Gonzales shot even (72) for the day and 10-over in the tournament to finish in a tie for 34th place.

Kansas will have a little over two weeks to recover from back-to-back tournaments over Spring Break before the Jayhawks return to competition at the Liz Murphy Collegiate in Athens, Georgia, April 13-15.
