Kawinpakorn second at North Shore Golf Club

ORLANDO, Fla. – Former Kansas golfer Yupaporn “Mook” Kawinpakorn posted her second top-five finish in her last three National Women’s Golf Association (NWGA) events with a second-place effort at the North Shore Golf Club Wednesday.

Kawinpakorn finished the three-round event with a 13-under 203, which included a 7-under-par performance in the final round. Despite a bogey on the front nine, Kawinpakorn was able to card three birdies to finish the first nine at 2-under. On the back nine, Kawinpakorn birdied both No. 11 and No. 14 before rattling off three-straight birdies to end the round. In all, she totaled 18 birdies.

Kawinpakorn finished two strokes out of the lead, but held a seven-stroke advantage over the third-place finisher. The North Shore Golf Club was the eighth NWGA event this season for Kawinpakorn, all of which have resulted in top-20 finishes with seven top-15 efforts. Kawinpakorn won the Deltona Club event on April 12.

The Kansas All-American currently stands in fourth place in the NWGA Player of the Year standings with 7,853 points. The next NWGA event is at the Stoneybrook East Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
