KU’S WIN:

  • Made KU’s all-time record in exhibition games 39-9 overall and 33-9 in Allen Fieldhouse.
  • Improved Kansas to 4-0 against Emporia State in exhibition contests dating back to 2005.
  • Improved Bonnie Henrickson to 14-1 in home exhibitions while at Kansas.

TEAM NOTES:

  • Kansas used the starting lineup of Angel Goodrich, Natalie Knight, Monica Engelman, Carolyn Davis and Aishah Sutherland in both halves.
  • Tonight’s game marked the 18th time the Jayhawks have played an in-state Division II foe in the preseason, which includes last season’s victories against Fort Hays State and Washburn.
  • The last time the Jayhawks met the Lady Hornets, KU won 85-48 on November 8, 2009.
  • In a five-minute stretch during the first half, KU went on a 16-2 run.
  • Kansas made 31-of-68 field goals in the victory for 45.6 percent.
  • All five freshmen saw playing time for the first time in a Kansas uniform.
  • Kansas shot 85 percent from the free throw line in the first half and 70 percent for the game.
  • The Jayhawks’ largest lead for the game was 31 points.
  • Kansas would have set a team-high 18 steals had it been a regular-season game.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

  • Junior guard Angel Goodrich scored eight of KU’s first nine points.
  • Goodrich drew two charges on the defensive end of the floor and had four assists, two steals and a team-high 16 points on the offensive end.
  • Of the 11 Jayhawks that played in the first half, seven scored in the first 20 minutes. Ten of the 11 Jayhawks that played scored in the game.
  • Junior forward Carolyn Davis and Goodrich led the team with 12 points at halftime.
  • Freshman guard Natalie Knight led the team in assists with five, which would have set a career high had it been a regular-season game.
  • Davis finished the game with six rebounds and 14 points off of 6-of-7 shooting from the field.
  • Sophomore guard CeCe Harper would have set a career-high in steals (six).
