Jayhawks seventh seed for Big 12 Championship

LAWRENCE, Kan.— Kansas men’s golf will be competing as the seventh seed at the 23rd annual Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship, April 26-28, the Big 12 announced on Monday.

Ranked 33rd nationally by Golfstat.com, Kansas is set to play alongside eighth-seeded Iowa State for day one of the three-day event. This will be the fourth time this season that Kansas and Iowa State have competed alongside each other. The Jayhawks will be teeing off at 8:07 a.m. (Central) from the 10th tee box.

Oklahoma State is the top seed followed by No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 5 Baylor and No. 6 TCU. Iowa State is eighth followed by West Virginia and Kansas State.

The championship is set to take place in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, at The Greenbrier golf course. Teams will consist of five golfers with the lowest four scores each round being used for the team totals. Day two’s pairings will be determined based on the 36-hole team totals from day one while day three will be based on the 54-hole team totals with the leaders teeing off last.

Following the final round on Sunday, there will be an awards ceremony for the winners of the championship.
