Kansas claims doubles title and advances in singles action

AUBURN, Ala. — Kansas tennis continues hot start to the fall season Saturday afternoon at the Marliss Gruver Fall Invitational in Auburn, Alabama. The Jayhawks saw success in both doubles and singles play.

KU freshman Vasiliki Karvouni went undefeated in singles and doubles. Sophomore Julia Deming added to her perfect singles record advancing to the finals of singles flight B (orange) bracket on Sunday.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. Maria Toran Ribes and Malkia Ngounoue ended day two at the Wahoowa Invitational as doubles champions Saturday morning. The two upperclassmen also posted singles wins later that afternoon.

Ngounoue boasted a 2-0 run after defeating opponents from Illinois and Princeton. Ribes finished the day with a win over her opponent from Illinois in her only singles match of the day.
