🎾 Kansas Finishes Fall Season at Big 12 Fall Championship

WACO, Texas – The Kansas tennis team wrapped up its fall season with nine singles and two doubles wins at the Big 12 Fall Invite in Waco, Texas.  

The four-day event kicked off on Nov. 9 with the team going 4-2 in singles as Gracie Mulville, Heike Janse Van Vuuren, Jocelyn Massey and Silvia Maria Costache all tallied victories.  

Day 2 would produce the same 4-2 singles results, except with two different members of Kyoka Kubo and Tamari Gagoshidze contributing to the win column. Massey and Van Vuuren picked up the other two wins.  

The strong start faded off on the third and fourth day of play as the Jayhawks notched two total wins in singles by Costache and Mulville.     

On the doubles side, the team finished with a 2-4 overall record. Day 2 of the Big 12 Invite started doubles play where Massey and Kubo picked up a 6-2 win over Houston. Mulville and Van Vurren followed suit by defeating Kansas State also by a score of 6-2. Gagoshidze and Costache went winless, and all three duos lost their doubles matches on Day 3.  

Kansas tennis will receive a long break until its next action on Jan. 11 when they kick off the spring season at the Battle at Indian Wells tournament in Indian Wells, California.
