Kansas rowing to face four top-20 teams in Indiana Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Kansasrowing hits the road for a stacked double duel featuring four top-20 teams, hosted by No. 16 Indiana on Saturday at Lake Lemon. The double duel also features No. 14 Iowa, No. 17 Michigan State and No. 20 Louisville.

The regatta will get underway on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and will run through approximately 3:00 p.m. Live audio coverage of the competition will be provided by IUHoosiers.com.

Fans in Bloomington can watch the action from Riddle Point Park, which is located at 7599 North Tunnel Rd., Unionville, Indiana 47469. Parking and admission is free.

SEASON SUMMARY

  • The Kansas rowing team kicked off the season in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, March 11-12 at the 6thannual Cardinal Invitational.
  • The Jayhawks placed in 12 races over that weekend, outracing top teams Clemson and Tennessee.
  • Following the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational, the Jayhawks hosted Creighton at the Kansas River on Saturday, March 25, sweeping the Bluejays in all six races.
  • The Third Varsity Eight A and B teams defeated Creighton with times of 7:05.67 and 6:59.61, respectively. The Kansas 3V8-B boat outraced Creighton by 20 seconds.
  • KU’s Second Varsity Four registered its largest margin of victory this spring, with a time of 7:34.81, 37 seconds ahead of Creighton.
