Jayhawks crack top-20 in Golfweek rankings

LAWRENCE, Kan. – On the heels of claiming its fifth win over its last 14 events, the Kansas men’s golf team was rewarded for its play by being ranked No. 19 overall in Golfweek’s men’s team collegiate rankings this week.

Through three events, KU has a victory over one top-25 team, four over top-50 and 13 over top-100. The Jayhawks rolled to a 13-stroke victory at the 2016 Golfweek Conference Challenge this past weekend at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa. In addition, senior Chase Hanna walked away with a share of the medalist honors after he fired a 10-under 206.

In Golfweek’s men’s individual collegiate rankings, Hanna ranks No. 26 nationally after owning a 203-19-3 record against the field in his three events this season.

Hanna and the Jayhawks will be back in action October 10 when Kansas travels to Pearland, Texas to play in the Bayou City Collegiate Championship at Golfcrest Country Club.
