Koch sweeps at ITA Summer Circuit

LAWRENCE, Kan.- Kansas senior-to-be Janet Koch dominated in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Summer Circuit final at the Jayhawk Tennis Center Monday. The Durbanville, South Africa native claimed the singles title and then paired up with fellow senior-to-be Nina Khmelnitckaia to claim the doubles crown.

The Jayhawk duo had to face off against one another on the court for the singles bracket title. In the end, Koch topped teammate Khmelnitckaia 6-4, 6-4, to claim the championship. Seeded as the overall No. 1 doubles team in Lawrence over the weekend, KU’s pair of Khmelnitckaia and Koch defeated the Nebraska tandem of Hayley Haakenstad and Claire Reifeis 8-0 to take the doubles championship.
