📅 Track and Field Introduces 2019-2020 Schedule
LAWRENCE, Kansas – Kansas Track and Field revealed its 2019-20 indoor and outdoor track and field schedule on Wednesday, which is highlighted by five home meets, including the 93rd running of the Kansas Relays on April 15-18 and the NCAA West Preliminary on May 28-30.
Two of the Jayhawks’ home meets will come during the indoor season, as Kansas kicks off its indoor season with the Bob Timmons Classic on Friday, December 6 at Anschutz Pavilion and the Jayhawk Classic on January 23-24.
Kansas’ outdoor season is highlighted by three home meets, including the 93rd Kansas Relays at Rock Chalk Park on April 15-18. The Kansas Relays will welcome some of the top talent across the country in the high school and collegiate competition.
On May 2, the Jayhawks return to Rock Chalk Park for the Rock Chalk Classic, which features Power 5 conference teams, in addition to championship level programs from the American Athletic Conference and Summit League. The meet will serve as the eighth of the outdoor season for the Jayhawks, as the team competes at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship on May 9 in Manhattan, Kansas.
Rock Chalk Park will serve as the site for the NCAA West Preliminary for the first time since 2016 on May 28-30, as the top athletes and teams of the West Region seek to punch their ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 10-13 in Austin, Texas. Kansas joins Sacramento State and Texas as the only schools to host the West Preliminary on more than one occasion, since the meet was introduced in 2010.
