Kansas men remain in USTFCCCA top-25 at No. 19

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Although the Kansas track & field teams saw multiple NCAA top-25 performances over the weekend in split squad action between the Tyson Invitational and the ISU Classic, both the KU men’s and women’s teams slipped in the national U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings. The Kansas men fell three spots to No. 19, while the KU women dropped out of the top-25 to No. 28 in the week four ratings.
 
The No. 19 Kansas men boast four student-athletes in the NCAA top-15 in their respective events. Redshirt sophomore Gleb Dudarev is the highest-ranked KU men’s athlete, holding the No. 4 mark in the NCAA this season in the weight throw at 23.08 meters (75-8.75 ft.).
 
Freshman Zach Bradford and senior Hussain Al Hizam both rank in the top-10 in the pole vault, with Bradford holding the No. 6 clearance in the NCAA this season at 5.63 meters (18-5.5 ft.) and Al Hizam sitting at No. 8 with a mark of 5.61 meters (18-4.75 ft.).
 
Junior Bryce Hoppel holds the No. 11 time in Division I this season in the men’s 800-meter run with a time of 1:48.10 set last weekend at the ISU Classic.
 
The No. 28 Kansas women have student-athletes with a total of six top-25 marks in the NCAA this season. Senior Sharon Lokedi holds the No. 3 time in the 5,000 meters at 15:15.47 and also recorded the No. 15 time in Division I in the 3,000 meters last weekend in Ames, Iowa.
 
Junior Andrea Willis is the No. 9-ranked pole vaulter on the descending order list with a season-best clearance of 4.37 meters (14-4 ft.).
 
Freshman Rylee Anderson ranks No. 12 in the NCAA this season in the high jump with a clearance of 1.80 meters (5-10.75 ft.) set last weekend at the Tyson Invitational.
 
Senior Marleena Eubanks is currently the No. 15-ranked 800-meter runner in the NCAA this season after posting a time of 2:06.01 at the ISU Classic, and sophomore Honour Finley ranks No. 21 in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 53.34 set at the Tyson Invitational.
 
The Jayhawks will have one final weekend to tune up before the Big 12 Indoor Championship in Lubbock, Texas, February 22-23, when the team splits up for the Arkansas Qualifier on February 15 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Indiana on February 16.
