Kansas women, 19 individuals earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors

NEW ORLEANS – All-Academic team and individual honors for the 2017-18 NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field seasons were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, with the Kansas women’s track & field team and 19 Jayhawk individuals earning recognition.
 
The Kansas women’s team posted a 3.35 combined team GPA to earn a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team list, while five men and 14 women earned individual honors.
 
Chloe Akin-Otiko, Riley Cooney, Courtney Coppinger, Hannah Dimmick, Adia Eberle, Honour Finley, Megan Linder, Nicole Montgomery, Morganne Mukes, Alexis Romero, Zainab Sanni, Caraline Slattery, Laura Taylor and Andrea Willis earned individual honors for the Jayhawk women, while Hussain Al Hizam, Nicolai Ceban, Brandon Lombardino, Kyle Rogers and Ezekiel Welch made the list for the Kansas men.
 
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
