Kansas Football Vs. Southern Mississippi Sold Out

Sept. 21, 2009

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics announced that Saturday’s home football game against Southern Mississippi is officially a sellout. The 11 a.m. game is being televised on FSN.

The advance sellout gives KU its sixth straight capacity crowd of Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium. It also marks the 10th sellout in the last 12 games for the Jayhawks in the 50,071-seat stadium. The only non-50,000-plus crowds in that time were 48,621 vs. Louisiana Tech and 49,566 vs. Colorado last season.

Kansas opened the year with a single-game record crowd of 52,530 vs. Northern Colorado. Last week 50,101 were on hand for the Jayhawks’ 44-16 victory against Duke.

After this week, Kansas has home games remaining against Iowa State (Oct. 10), Oklahoma (Oct. 24) and Nebraska (Nov. 14). Ticket information is available at www.kuathletics.com.
