College Colors Day set for Friday, Aug. 31

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The college football season is fast approaching, the sounds of tailgates will soon fill Campanile Hill, and fans are already picking out which attire they’ll don to show their true colors all season long. This Friday, Aug. 31, the 14th annual College Colors Day celebration will kick it all off as fans unite to show their spirit and pride. Kansas fans are encouraged to join the celebration by wearing blue.

Also on Friday, Jayhawk fans are encouraged to show their camaraderie and support for Kansas to all college football fanatics across the social media landscape. On Facebook, fans can add a custom Kansas frame to their profile picture, so be sure to check KUAthletics.com to add your own. Also, fans can win new gear by sharing imagery and video in Kansas colors across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram while using the hashtag #CollegeColors. So fans have even more reason to stand up and share which colors they’ll be representing all year.

For fans looking to add new officially licensed Jayhawk gear to their wardrobe for the festivities Rally House is Kansas Athletics’ official game day sales partner. They currently feature their store in Allen Fieldhouse, and will also provide all game day merchandise sales at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and all other Kansas Athletics events, offering an unparalleled selection of Kansas Jayhawks apparel and gifts. College Colors Day was created by KU’s licensing partner, IMG College Licensing (IMGCL), to present a unified spirit day for college fans and supporters. Beyond showing their fandom on social media, fans can also visit www.CollegeColorsDay.com for discounts on new college merchandise, including an inaugural partnership with Ebates that gives consumers 30% cash back on college merchandise purchases made at Fanatics via the website. Through Sept. 2, fans can also use the website to enter for the chance to win a variety of prizes, including two tickets and a trip to the national championship in the Bay Area thanks to IMGCL’s partnership with the College Football Playoff (CFP), and its charitable arm, Extra Yard for Teachers, that empowers and honors the teachers who help student-athletes across the country realize their dream of attending college.
