Jayhawks in the NFL: Preseason Week One
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Eleven Jayhawks are set to make an appearance in week one of the NFL Preseason this week, as four players are set to make their rookie debuts.
The 11 Jayhawks represent nine different NFL teams that will play between Thursday and Saturday. Joe Dineen Jr., was the first to make their season debuts for the Denver Broncos after playing the 2019 Hall of Fame Game on August 1, where the Broncos defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 14-10. Dineen Jr., compiled two combined tackles and one individual tackle in the game, while Chris Harris Jr., did not make an appearance.
The NFL Preseason kicks off the 2019 NFL season as players fight for a spot on the final 53-man roster to be finalized on August 31.

Jayhawks in Action: Shakial Taylor (Indianapolis Colts)
Shakial Taylor enters his first NFL training camp with the Indianapolis Colts after signing as an undrafted free agent on May 7. As a cornerback for the Jayhawks, Taylor compiled 56 total tackles and three interceptions in his two years in Lawrence.

Jayhawks in Action: Steven Sims Jr.
After signing with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent, wide receiver Steven Sims Jr., looks to make a good impression in his first NFL appearance against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. Sims Jr., has made a strong impression during training camp, after collecting 214 career receptions and 19 career touchdowns with the Jayhawks.
Ravens vs. Jaguars

Jayhawks in Action: Fish Smithson (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Fish Smithson enters his first NFL training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars, after the team signed him to the active roster on July 25. Smithson looks to bolster the Jaguars secondary, after totaling 253 tackles and six interceptions in his career with the Jayhawks, before he went on to play in two games for the Washington Redskins last year.

Jayhawks in Action: Tyler Patmon (Miami Dolphins)
Tyler Patmon enters his sixth year in the league and second with the Miami Dolphins, as he looks to make his season debut against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. Patmon, who spent the past two years as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, returns to the Dolphins after playing two games with the team in 2015.

Playing for his hometown Chicago Bears, John Wirtel looks to make his NFL debut on Thursday, as the Chicago Bears take on the Carolina Panthers. Wirtel signed as an undrafted free agent with the Bears on April 27.

Jayhawks in Action: Dorance Armstrong Jr., (Dallas Cowboys), Daniel Wise (Dallas Cowboys)
A pair of Jayhawks will be in action for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, as Daniel Wise looks to make his NFL debut, while Dorance Armstrong Jr., enters his second season in the NFL. In his rookie campaign, Armstrong Jr., saw action in 15 games, where he made 13 combined tackles.

Jayhawks in Action: Aqib Talib (Los Angeles Rams)
Entering his second season with the Los Angeles Rams, Aqib Talib is set to enter his 12th NFL season. Talib started eight games a season ago, where he compiled 23 combined tackles. A five-time Pro-Bowler, Talib looks to bolster a defensive unit that helped the Rams to a Super Bowl appearance last year.
