🏈 Jayhawks in the NFL: Week 15

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Week 15 of the NFL season begins on Sunday for the Jayhawks in the NFL, as teams fight for a spot in the NFL playoffs. Sunday features five Jayhawks in action, including Bradley McDougald (Seattle Seahawks), Steven Sims Jr., (Washington Redskins), Chris Harris Jr., and Shakial Taylor (Denver Broncos), and Dorance Armstrong Jr., (Dallas Cowboys).

Entering week 15, McDougald and the Seahawks are in the thick of the NFC playoff picture, holding a 10-3 record. The Dallas Cowboys are currently holding the No. 4 seed in the NFC with a 6-7 record at the top of the NFC East division. The Denver Broncos are looking to make a late-season push to the playoffs at 5-8, and are currently looking to sneak into the AFC wild card race.

Jayhawks in Action: Bradley McDougald (Seattle Seahawks)

Bradley McDougald and the Seattle Seahawks look to finish the season strong in the thick of the NFC playoff race, after falling to the Los Angeles Rams a week ago. McDougald has helped anchor the Seahawks’ secondary this season, starting 11 of 12 games, forcing 44 tackles and two interceptions. McDougald landed his name on the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl ballot, and looks to lead the Seahawks defense into the playoffs in a couple of weeks.

Jayhawks in Action: Steven Sims Jr., (Washington Redskins)

The rookie year for Steven Sims Jr., has been nothing short of spectacular, as the Washington Redskin is currently second in the NFL in kick return yards, returning 27 kicks for 685 yards and one touchdown. Sims’ 91-yard return touchdown came against the New York Jets and is just one of six touchdowns to be scored on a kick return this season. In addition to his explosiveness in the return game, Sims has helped the Washington offense by hauling in 18 passes for 120 yards, while rushing for a touchdown. Sims’ breakout season has him aimed for the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl, which he landed on the ballot earlier this season.

Denver Broncos (5-8) at Kansas City Chiefs (9-4)

Jayhawks in Action: Chris Harris Jr., (Denver Broncos), Shakial Taylor (Denver Broncos)

Chris Harris Jr., and Shakial Taylor arrive at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, as the Denver Broncos look to keep their playoff hopes alive against their AFC West foe. Harris has held down the Broncos’ secondary this season, starting in every game while forcing one interception this season. Taylor arrives on the Broncos after playing for the Indianapolis Colts earlier this year, as he looks to help the Broncos stay on track.

Los Angeles Rams (8-5) at Dallas Cowboys (6-7)

Dorance Armstrong and the NFC East leading Dallas Cowboys look to keep their playoff hopes intact on Sunday when they host the Los Angeles Rams. In the thick of a divisional race, the Cowboys look to get back on track after dropping their last three games. This season, Armstrong has played in all 13 of the Cowboys games this season, combining for 13 tackles and one forced fumble.
