Reed added to 2019-20 softball roster

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas softball head coach Jennifer McFalls announced the addition of Hailey Reed, a transfer from Pacific, to the 2019-20 roster.

Reed, a Topeka, Kansas native, played three season for the Pacific Tigers and saw action both in the field and in the circle.

During the Tigers’ 2019 campaign, Reed finished with a team-high .296 batting average and led the team with 40 hits, while also posting a team-best 3.98 earned run average in 115.1 innings of work. The Topeka native led the Tigers with 113 strikeouts last season.

"I am very excited about Hailey Reed joining our program. When we spoke for the first time, I knew it was going to be a good fit. I love her competitive factor and she really wants to come here and make a difference. She will only have one year left, but will be a great influence for us in that one season. She will compete in the circle and in the outfield for us. She runs well, is very athletic and loves the weight room. Her mental toughness and overall athleticism will be huge for us as we continue to grow this program in the right direction."

She was named a 2019 All-West Coast Conference (WCC) First Team selection, marking the third-consecutive season she earned postseason honors from the conference.

Reed was named the 2017 WCC Co-Freshman of the Year and also was selected to the All-West Coast Conference First Team that season. She was also tabbed a 2018 All-WCC Second Team selection and earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Third Team honors twice (2017, 2018).

Reed will have one season of eligibility remaining and is eligible to compete immediately.
