Brickey Named Co-Big 12 Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Kansas infielder Chaley Brickey was named Co-Big 12 Player of the Week as announced by the league for the week ending on March 9. It is the first weekly conference honor for Brickey, who is also the first Jayhawk to earn the accolade in 2014.
 
A native of Haltom City, Texas, Brickey helped the Jayhawks to a 4-1 record over the weekend by hitting .643 (9-of-14) with three doubles, three home runs and a team-high six RBIs. She tallied multiple hits in three of five games and multiple RBIs in two games. Brickey hit a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate against tournament host South Florida with three RBIs and three runs scored.
 
Brickey hit a long ball in three-straight games and leads the team with six on the season. She recorded a team-best slugging percentage of 1.500 and on-base percentage of .737. Brickey also led the team last week in hits (9), runs (9), doubles (3), home runs (3) and walks (5). She recorded five putouts, eight assists and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in five starts.
