Career Honors: 2012: Named to the Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll during spring semester.

2012 (RFr.): Played in five games, seeing time on special teams… Made Jayhawk debut at Northern Illinois, playing on the punt return team… Did not recorded any statistics.

2011 (Fr.): Redshirted during his first year at KU.

High School: Was a two-year all-district selection… Served as a team captain… Earned academic all-district honors three times… Recorded 200 tackles, forced eight fumbles, broke up 23 passes and had three interceptions in his three-year prep career… Lettered three seasons as a free safety… Also completed in track and basketball.

Personal: Born in Austin, Texas… Son of James and Veronica Matlock… Has one sibling… Plans to major in biology… Hobbies include basketball, reading and playing video games… Serves as a youth basketball coach and mentor… Elected freshman class vice president and has received leadership and academic awards.
