LAWERENCE, Kan. –

Three Jayhawks scored in double figures, including 13 points and 11 rebounds from junior Darnell Jackson as No. 5 Kansas downed Dartmouth, 83-32, in front of 16,300 fans at Allen Fieldhouse Tuesday.

The win pushes KU to 6-1 on the season, while the Big Green fall to 0-6.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Jackson, who also had a double-double against Oral Roberts earlier this season, recorded his third career game with 10-plus points and rebounds. The 6-foot-9 junior hit 4-of-5 shots from the field and knocked down all five of his free throw attempts to match his career-high of 13 points.

Fellow forwards Darrell Arthur and Julian Wright chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively as KU outscored Dartmouth 38-12 in the paint. Junior guard Russell Robinson added seven assists and just one turnover, while sophomore Brandon Rush chipped in nine points and five rebounds.

All but one of the 12 Jayhawks who saw action on Tuesday evening scored points.

KU outrebounded the Big Green, 52-23, and held Dartmouth to just 25 percent shooting from the field. This marked the first time the Jayhawks have held an opponent under 40 points since it allowed 37 to Oklahoma State on March 7, 1999.

The Jayhawks will travel to DePaul for another non-conference clash Saturday at 1 p.m., in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
