Kansas Hosts Salute to Service & Movie Night at the Ballpark

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas baseball returns to Hoglund ballpark for a three-game Big 12 series against Texas Tech May 2-4. The Jayhawks will host Movie Night at the Ballpark along with several other fun activities in store for the second-to-last home series of the 2014 season.  
 
Kansas will kick off the series on Friday night with a salute to service, where the Jayhawks will honor all active and veteran military personnel, police, fire, medical and first responders and will receive $3 admission to the game. KU flags will be given away at the gate and fans can take advantage of $1 Coke floats, while supplies last.
 
Movie Night will cap off a fun-filled Saturday at Hoglund Ballpark, while celebrating youth baseball day. After the game, fans are encouraged to stick around for “The Sandlot”. Fans are invited to bring blankets and pillows on to the field to watch the film on the video board approximately 30 minutes after the final out of the game. All kids wearing their team jersey will receive free admission. Fans may also buy one ticket and get one ticket free. Everyone in attendance will receive a jersey koozie, first pitch is set for 2 p.m. on May 2nd.
 
The series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. will host Lawrence Kids Day. All children wearing their team jersey or anyone with a canned food donation for Just Foods will receive $3 admission. Kansas trading cards will be given out to fans in attendance while supplies last. Prior to the game, children can take the field with the Jayhawks for the National Anthem and after the game kids will have a chance to run the bases and get autographs from their favorite Jayhawk players.
