PERSONAL

  • Son of John and Farrah Cashero
  • Has one younger sister, Callie
  • His father, John, played baseball at Newman University
  • Picked Kansas over Southern Illinois, University of Texas at Arlington, Wichita State, Tarleton State, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Radford, Tulane and Memphis
  • Chose Kansas because, “Ever since I moved to Kansas when I was younger, I have been a Jayhawks fan. After watching the Jayhawks play at Hoglund in my young age, I knew this was where I dreamed of playing when I grew up, so as soon as I had the opportunity, it was a no-brainer.”
  • Lived in Alaska from 2003-2007 and that was when he first became associated with Kansas Baseball. Ryne Price (son of former Head Coach Ritch Price) and John Allman, members of the Jayhawks, played their summer ball as members of the Anchorage Glacier Pilots, a college summer team in the Alaska Baseball League. His parents were members on the board of directors for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in the ABL and became acquainted with Ryne and John when they played there for the summer. After his family moved to Kansas, they went to a game to see Ryne and John play, and that was the beginning of his dream to play KU baseball at the University of Kansas.
  • Majoring in liberal arts & sciences
