As noted in Chancellor Girod’s message, fans are able to attend sporting events at Kansas Athletics venues for the month of October, beginning with the football Homecoming game vs. Oklahoma State on October 3.
Kansas volleyball (1-1) is slated to make its first road trip of the season, traveling to Austin, Texas to face the Texas Longhorns (2-0) at the Frank C. Erwin Jr, Special Events Center Oct. 1-2. KU will play its first match against the preseason Big 12 favorites Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. on the Longhorn Network, and conclude the two-match series Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
Freshman Kate Dreyer is the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, while senior Kathryn Castro is listed on TopDrawerSoccer.com (TDS) National Team of the Week and junior Sarah Peters is a TDS Team of the Week Honorable Mention selection.
Bronze statues of legendary Kansas Football players John Hadl and Gale Sayers will be unveiled outside the Anderson Family Football Complex at halftime of the Jayhawks game on Oct. 3 vs. Oklahoma State.
John Hadl, one of the Jayhawk football legends enshrined in Memorial Stadium’s Ring of Honor, is the 2020 recipient of the Fred Ellsworth Medallion for his lifelong service to the University of Kansas.
